Across Alabama and America, citizens are suffering the effects of rising gasoline prices, lower home values, and rising healthcare costs.

I want to be your loud, bold and persistent voice in Congress.  I have the desire and the experience to tighten the purse-strings of Wasteful Washington.  Congress has been paralyzed by partisan bickering and pork barrel deal making that has resulted in a record national debt approaching $10 trillion, that’s $10,000,000,000,000.00.  Unfortunately, unless we act swiftly and decisively, that debt will be left to our children. 

As the Mayor of Montgomery, I have implemented fiscal objectives that resulted in a balanced budget every year, funded a $30 million rainy day account, and revitalized a downtown area that had been allowed to fall into decay.  I want to take my experience to Congress, where I will answer to you, the people of the 2nd Congressional District, and with your prayers and support we will form a united front that puts Congress back in the hands of the people.

I will push for an economic plan to return America to the “Land of Opportunity”.  I will fight for fiscal policies that keep America competitive in the world marketplace and restore the US dollar to the most prized and stable currency in the world.  

As your next Congressman for the 2nd District I will: 

• Deliver Legislation that considers the needs of every farm, regardless of size

• Protect military bases in the 2nd District - those are our troops and they’re staying here

• Attract more high-paying industries to South Alabama 

• Support legislation to make a college education available to anyone who wants the opportunity

• Fund programs that encourage workforce development in the areas of science, engineering, and information technology

• Work to make healthcare more affordable and accessible by finding long-term solutions

• Support energy independence with realistic plans that free Alabamians from greedy oil czar’s in foreign countries.

• Ensure adequate federal funding for law enforcement agencies in their job to protect Alabamians

• End tax breaks to companies that ship our jobs overseas.
Alabama families deserve real tax relief that puts more money back in their pockets – not more giveaways to big corporations, foreign governments, and fat cat millionaires.
