Campaign Pledge

With our nation at war and our economy in uncertain times, I believe it is important to unite our country and maintain faith in the integrity of our government leaders.

As campaign tactics have the potential to harm public faith and undermine confidence in America’s democratic system, I hereby pledge that, as a candidate for the United States House of Representatives, I will:

ABIDE BY the teaching of my faith and follow the Ten Commandments as laid out in Exodus Chapter 20 of the Old Testament, specifically the 9th Commandment, and the teachings of Christ on the “greatest commandment” as put forth in Matthew 22: 36-40;

ABIDE BY all campaign laws and procedures;

CONDUCT myself in a manner that promotes public confidence in the integrity of our electoral system;

CONDUCT my campaign honestly and make myself available to share my positions and opinions with the people I wish to represent;

REFUSE TO defame the character of my opponent, his personal religious beliefs, political party affiliation, or to condone the actions of those who do;

REFUSE TO defame the character of our President and our elected Representatives in Congress;

CONDEMN the use of whisper campaigns, libel, slander, or attacks on my opponent’s family members;

CONDEMN the use of campaign material of any sort that misrepresents, distorts, or otherwise falsify the facts regarding my opponent, his political party, or another elected official as well as the use of malicious or unfounded accusations against any candidate or party;

CONDEMN any appeal to prejudice based on race or creed;

DISAVOW PUBLICLY any material and advertising that are not factually accurate or that fail to disclose the identity behind such campaign activities and the source of funding;

STRIVE TO build honest, productive consensus between myself and my opponent and between our political parties on the issues challenging our state and our nation today;

SUBMIT copies of this pledge to my campaign workers, volunteers, and key supporters.

This 22nd day of July 2008.

Bright Should Win "Hands-down" in November According to Paper

"Bobby Bright should win this race hands down in November [according to The Wetumpka Hearald]. The candidate that won Tuesday has not proven anything about serving you and me in Washington. All they have proven is that politics of their brand has created all this voter apathy."
