Growing Our Economy and Creating Jobs
- Helped lead the team to reverse BRAC decision, saving thousands of jobs at Maxwell/Gunter AFB.
- Brought unprecedented number of new high paying jobs to Montgomery and The River Region including 3,300 with Hyundai and over 5,000 at 40 suppliers in the area.
Changed the Face of Montgomery
- Revitalized Montgomery's downtown and riverfront.
- Re-invented the City's tourism industry. He was named "Government Tourism Advocate of the Year" by Southeast Tourism Society and the Governor's "Tourism Advocate of the Year" for the State of Alabama.
- Partnered with RSA to build the Renaissance Montgomery hotel, theater, and convention complex.
- Brought Biscuits Baseball, and opened the 7,000 seat nationally-recognized Riverwalk Stadium.
Tight-Fisted with Public Dollars
- Balanced the City's budget every year and created a $30 million rainy day fund.
- Secured millions in federal grants for much needed city projects.
- Maintained "AA" credit rating by holding spending and debt in check – Best rating in the State!
- Implemented an international prescription drug buying program saving the City hundreds of thousands of dollars
